Craft: Fall Door Decoration

I first saw this pin a while back, but unfortunately whomever pinned it did a pinning pet-peeve of mine- meaning that they didn’t “pin” it correctly, so I had no written instructions on how to complete this.

I was tasked with coming up with a front door decoration that was thin enough that it wouldn’t get smashed by my screen door, and thought this was the perfect inspiration.

I found this site online where you can get outdoor rated unfinished wooden letters for a reasonable price. My letter came in, and I got to work.

I used this midevil torture device to glue some fall leaves that I bought and tore off of garland. I call it a torture device because I would accidentally get a drop on my finger, and the pain continued to get worse. Seriously, if I wanted to torture someone, I would dab them with a hot glue gun.

Burning my Scentsy pumpkin roll bar put me in the fall kind of mood. :)

All I did was hot glue gun the leaves on, and then secure a ribbon on top to hang it on my door. Here is the final finished project:

In the meantime, it’s hanging on the inside of my door, because I need to remove my door knocker (hehe, knocker) in order for it to not look super dumb.

  • Garland (two 6′ strands with lots left over): $7 from Michaels
  • 12″ wooden letter: $12
  • Ribbon: $1 from Michaels
  • Hot glue: painful

Have you done any fun pinterest projects this week? Comment with your blog name so I can go check them out.

Thanks for the super fun link-up, AP. :)
