After spending quite a few hours out of my days reading blogs, commenting on other blogs, making blog friends, etc, I have started noticing a common trend, with us bloggers. We have our own lingo at times. (Examples: “Did you see that person’s cray new header? I love that link up! How do you like my new button? I can’t seem to get the HTML to work, and need to dive more into the CSS settings, I suppose.”)
But to us, we are a community. A sometimes demented circle of friends, that laughs together, cries together, and experiences each other’s lives together.
It would become natural that styles, and trends have also seemed to “rub off” on each other. The following list is meant to be funny. Some of the stuff I’m guilty of, some of it I am jealous that others can pull off.
1. Bubble Necklaces
This is one of those things that inwardly, I am jealous of. Every single time I try to think of an outfit that one of these beauties would “go with” currently in my closet, I am at a complete loss. I just don’t think I can pull one off.
2. Chevron Anything
I am quite positive that bloggers are 90% of the chevron home decor key market, and we keep it afloat. There’s something about this fun pattern that keeps us coming back for more, again and again. If you don’t like it immediately, it may grow on you slowly like it did with me. Now I find myself ooohing and aaaahhing over it in Home Goods, and loving anything with a zig, or a zag.
3. EOS Lipbalm
I can honestly say that I used this pre-blogging days. However, I see it everywhere (maybe I’m just out looking for it?) on blogs. Do I like it? Yeah. It’s easy to find on the bottom of my purse. Do I think that it’s thebomb.com? Nope. Taking the unique shape away from it, there are better lip balms out there, if you ask me.
4. Lifeplanners
I feel like every stay at home mom is eager to plop down $50 of their family’s hard earned money for a new life planner. MAYBE I would consider one of these bad boys if I was still working, or going to school, however, I don’t feel the need to spend that amount of money on one currently to write down my one playground type activity per day. Honestly, I much prefer the planner that a sweet friend made me based on her DIY planner tutorial (oh hey! It’s chevron! Hahaha!). And it only cost $5 in printing.
5. iPhones
Don’t ever try to separate a blogger from their iPhone. Legit, you’ll lose a limb. I am not permitted to become part of the Apple family, as those of you close to me knows that my husband despises the company, and will not purchase anything apple (though we do both own iPods that neither of us use often.) When I was phone shopping back in November, every single sales person I asked said that the Samsung was a better phone. Admittedly, part of me didn’t care, because I wanted to be in the cool iPhone club. Oh well. I love my Samsung, regardless of being a blogger outsider.
Have you noticed any other kind of blogging “fads?” Care to share in the comment section?

Ha! Love it. I am glad you are not going along w/ the lifeplanner trend. The erin condren ones! I actually got one the year before EVERY blogger was. I rationalized it by saying I get such good use out of them it would be worth it! (Keep in mind i am not a SAHM or a mom at all!). Well, i was wrong. The spirals didn’t hold it together as it should & the notepad in the back fell off! Not something necessary for a $50 planner! Outrageous! I got a nice leather bound one for $14.95 at Barnes & Noble. And i love it!
I AM OBSESSED WITH CHEVRON! And i love my iPhone!
But i don’t think i could pull off the bubble necklaces either.

HA. This was a cute little post… My planner is also chevron pattern, but I didn’t spend no 50 bucks on it (it was a cheapy from Target)! I LOVE my Samsung Galaxy SIII, despite the iPhone craze… know what else I’m loving? The changes to your blog, especially that new header!

The iPhone is pretty pimp! Just get a chevron case for the Samsung and no one will notice! Also you can wear a bubble necklace I promise!

Hahah this made me laugh so hard! I am totally one of those iPhone people!
This is so true… and guess what???? I have that exact bubble necklace. Bahaha. I even wore it for my photo session this week for new blog pictures. Don’t make fun of me now. I do love the chevron too. Maybe b/c it’s the only pattern I can make in Illustrator??
