If you’re anything like me, you comb the grocery store looking for great quality snacks for your little one. However, most of the time I come home with the same item: empty crackers such as goldfish, or bunnies. They don’t have any nutrients, and are just a good filler food, or time wasting snack.
There really isn’t anything portable, except for crackers with some sort of weird cheese-like dipping stuff, that is nothing but chemicals. That’s why I was so excited when I was given the opportunity to review solbites.
Solbites is a local Colorado company made in a little town just north of Boulder named Lyons. There are two rivers that join together in Lyons, and that sprung the idea of the two flavors merging together to create one delicious snack for children, and adults.
Solbites has a huge passion for community involvement, and donates part of their income to programs that help fight the rise of childhood obesity and promote healthy lifestyles for children. I love that concept, and that they want to make a difference in the snack industry.
Solbites currently has three different and delicious flavors:
- Chocolate Almond Butter and Strawberry
- Peanut Butter and Strawberry
- Almond Butter and (no mess) Honey
The snacks have around 200-240 calories each, and their fruit spread is all low in sugar. The honey spread is delicious, and is a cream-like consistency that will not drip on you.
They have a little spreading stick included in the package- making these the perfect on the go snack.
I tested these snacks out at my playgroup that I hosted at my house last Friday, and they were a huge hit! The picky toddlers loved them, and the moms loved that it wasn’t just junk food. Oh, and they are also Vivien approved.
Haha, she actually scrunches her nose like that every time she eats. She loves them! See?!
Goofy face!
Vivien’s favorite pastime is licking all the spread off the crackers.
Solbites can be purchased at Whole Foods, or at King Sooper in the “Colorado Proud” section.
Seriously friends, you have got to try them- they are so yummy!
Oh wait, actually, YOU CAN!
