Feeling Grateful on Monday

As Monday approaches quicker and quicker, I’m trying to look at it differently. Instead of dreading a new work week (which even stay at home mom’s recognize, mind you! It’s nice having two parents present throughout the daytime!) I am choosing to look at it as a fresh start. A way to sit back, and be thankful for what the past weeks have brought me.

Recently, I’ve gotten a few inquiries from facebook friends regarding my pricing for photography. I say this tongue in cheek, because I still can’t believe it, honestly. I laugh and tell them I don’t charge anything. I’m simply not “there” yet. I’m not personally proud enough of my ability to present amazing flawless images, and don’t want to put the pressure on myself to deliver that. At least this way, if they don’t like the photos, they can go somewhere else without being financially impacted. But I do have to pause and feel blessed that I have a hobby that I am loving learning, and how seamlessly it fits into my true passion of writing.

Blogging and internet article writing go hand in hand with photography. Personally, I much prefer looking at webpages with high quality images, and not grainy cell phone pictures. Now I realize that cell phone pictures serve a great purpose, and I often use them myself, but it’s been a recent goal of mine to step outside of the “easy” blogging box, and challenge myself, not only as a writer, but as an aspiring photographer.

I’m blessed with a new hobby, and I’m excited about how much I love writing for Daily Mom. I am also incredibly grateful for opportunities that Daily Mom has opened up for me, such as the chance to acquire an amazing double stroller that my family has fallen in love with. If you missed my article recently on the Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight, I urge you to check it out- especially if you’re in the market for an awesome double stroller.

Feeling grateful is an understatement these days- a hobby I love, and a blossoming writing “career” that I am passionate about. I’m one lucky Mama!

I hope you take a second and read through those posts if they strike your fancy. If they don’t? Well, I’m sorry. I’m obviously busy and simply can’t please everyone. ;-) (Just kidding! Happy Monday!)

  • Amen! We are totally on the same page girl. I’m having so much fun playing around with photography! I’m seriously considering adding in newborn photographer to my resume. Love it! I just wish I had more time to practice and study techniques.
