This photo kind of accurately sums up how every single attempt of a cutesy 4 month photo shoot went down. It also kind of summarizes the entire month. Remember this instance? That happened during his 4th month. Typically around 3-4 months is when they say that “colic” should be dwindling down. That wasn’t the case with him, so at the end of March I eliminated dairy from my diet 100%.
Unfortunately, I can’t report how big he was at 4 months, because for some reason, the print out I got at the doctor’s office was from his 3 month exam, and not 4 month. Oh well. Sorry, homeboy.
He learned how to sit up on his own around 4 months and 3 weeks old, but that’s only if you place him there. He hasn’t gotten himself there yet. The doctor gave him a new reflux medication, however, we stopped using it shortly after I went dairy free, because that is what made a noticeable impact, not the $75/month medicine.
Sorry dude, this was just your face. I did try on a few different occasions to take photos of him, but he just wasn’t having it. A friend of mine actually got better photos for that month.

- Wearing size 3-6 month clothing
- rolling everywhere
- Sitting up unassisted
William’s sleep still isn’t stellar, and he sleeps his longer stretch (aka:2 ish hrs) in the rock n play, and then moves into bed with me for the rest of the night after his first feeding. After that, I’m not really sure how often he’s awake because he basically eats all night long while I attempt to sleep. It works. It’s not ideal. I won’t be surprised if he’s still snuggling me in my bed when he’s a teenager.
This little man has taught me about fierce love, and oodles of patience. He loves me so much. He always has to be touching me. He has a hissy fit if I set him down. But he has the best little personality. He is skeptical of new people (much like his daddy) and doesn’t hesitate to let his feelings show. He’s such a blessing to our family.
- 29 months old (one month shy of 2 and a half!)
- Not showing potty learning interest. At all. When I ask her if she has to go, she lies and goes in her pants. When I sit her on the potty, she cries.
- Loves helping. She loves helping cook, or put away dishes, or fold (aka wad) up laundry.
- Still an annoying eater. She flat our refuses to sit still and eat, she always has to be playing musical chairs. I pick my battles.
- Officially sleeping in her big girl bed.
